Eyelash extensions are individual silk, mink or synthetic eyelashes. The most commonly used are synthetic mink lashes as they hold their curl while looking natural. The lashes are attached one by one to each of your individual natural lashes, never to your skin. They range in diameter, length, and curl pattern to create a customized look to enhance your natural eye beauty.
Because the lashes are adhered to your individual eyelashes, they will follow the natural pattern of your lash growth cycle which can range from 6-8 weeks. Since there are 3 phases to our lash growth cycle, we naturally lose up to 5 lashes per eye per day. Wearing lash extensions will not change the growth cycle, and so touch up appointments are required to refill and replace the naturally lost lashes.
When applied correctly, lash extensions do not damage your natural lashes. They are adhered close to the base of your individual natural lash and will follow your natural hair growth pattern. In order to maintain the health of your natural lashes, proper aftercare is essential in between appointments. The lash adhesive is specifically formulated to create a solid but flexible bond for human lashes.
Lash Extensions are individual synthetic lashes designed to be applied to every one of your own lashes to create depth and length to your natural lashes. They require ongoing maintenance with touch up appointments every 2-3 weeks for optimal lash health and a consistent looking set.
An alternative lash service, is a the semi-permanent Lash Lift. This is a treatment option which creates a lift from the root of your lashes to create a curled lashes which last until they naturally fall out. This is a maintenance free option that lasts up to 8 weeks and is a great option for flat or downward turned lashes.
Adding a Tint to your lash lift is great way to make your lashes darker without effort. You can also wear mascara over a lift and tint for a more dramatic look.
The best way to prepare for your lash service is to come with clean lashes, cleansed with a mild oil-free cleanser or make up remover and all traces of mascara removed.
Aftercare of eyelash extensions is one of the biggest factors in lash retention. That means that how you take care of your lashes in between appointments can impact on how long they last. Daily cleansing and brushing of your lashes is essential for lash hygiene and a fabulous looking lash set.
